Mission
By the project "Improving the institutional ethos by bilateral cooperation with similar entities from Norway - valuing human diversity and promoting intercultural dialogue", developed in partnership with Correctional Services of South Region/Kriminalomsorgen SOR and Phoenix Hague, Penitentiary Rahova Bucharest has set as its main objective strengthening bilateral partnerships in the field of the financing program RO18, which contributes to the management of problematic profile of people in detention centres, remand, prisons and centres that provide alternative measures to incarceration in the context of the present multiculturalism, by promoting social intercultural and anti-discriminatory dialogue in order to prevent radicalization. The project suggests the development of partnerships between institutions in the competence area of justice and internal affairs with partner organizations from Romania and Norway in the field of intercultural cooperation and human diversity specific to the detention centres, arrests and detention, in order to reduce the risk of radicalization.

Main actions: According to the agenda of activities, during the two trips planned, representatives of Romanian partners will benefit from the Norwegian expertise and will assimilate models of good practices that will generate significant contributions to the everyday work of preventing and combating criminality within the institutions with attributions in the retention, arrest and detention of people who violated the criminal law.
In the immediately following period, there are scheduled activities within the four Romanian institutions, auspicious occasion for the delegation of Norway to know the profile of Romanian detainee in the custody of Norwegian prisons, to know how to manage people with problematic profile that present a risk of radicalization, from the perspective of professional activities on the line to combat the illegal migration flow and other illegal activities.
